Temple of Phoenix

Hi everyone! I'm back with another piece from my recent work: the Temple of Phoenix, showcased in two contrasting states—completely ruined and fully restored. Over the last year, my main duty has been the creation of this kind of dynamic environment content, focusing on assets that tell a story through their visual transformation.

For this project, I handled the entire pipeline in Maya, from the meticulous modeling of the structural details and debris to the procedural texturing that captures the passage of time and fire. The lighting and final render for both the desolate ruin and the vibrant, reborn temple were executed in Arnold. Furthermore, I utilized Photoshop to structure the assets into essential layers for 2D animation, ensuring smooth transitions between the two states.

If the original concept artist sees this, please reach out in the comments! I’d love to credit you properly, as I’ve worked on so many assets lately that I don’t recall exactly who designed each one.
